Wreck-It Media is a new site, creating and sharing content from all aspects of Geek and Pop culture. At first, this will be the home for all our podcasts, but we’re hoping to expand it in the future.

Marty Harman (reelbigmartin) founded Wreck-It Media in 2014, and has based the site on 4 fundamental things that we believe, stop life being mundane, and make it interesting:

Watch it. Hear it. Play it. Live it.

Movies are a great way to escape reality. We lose ourselves in new worlds, and live vicariously through heroes and villains. In the last few years, TV has also adopted this role too, allowing us to delve deeper into the lives of interesting people. This is why we Watch It.

Music is the ultimate form of creativity, and some of our earliest memories are of sitting in our bedrooms, putting a CD in a HiFi and getting lost in an album. Although the way we listen has changed, the way we feel about music, hasn’t. This is why we Hear It.

Before you can comprehend the plot of films, or understand the poetry of lyrics, most kids born in the 80s/90s learnt how to live through video games. They have gotten bigger and better than ever, with lifelike graphics, and more effort put into story telling. This is why we Play It.

There’s something liberating about being passionate. We as geeks get so excited about a 20 second trailer, or the announcement of a remake can make us feel 8 years old again. It’s passion like nothing else. This is why we Live It.

Our goal is to bring you entertainment on a regular basis that we hope you’ll enjoy, opinions on the latest geek news and lots of stuff we do for one reason. Because we LOVE it!

“Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.” – Simon Pegg
